LOT.717 - PAINTER PANTS WITH BUCKLE - DAMAGED INDIGO

These pants are based on painter’s pants from the 1920s and 1930s and feature a distressed finish.

• Drawing inspiration from the 1930s vintage pieces in their collection, they’ve recreated the earth and oil stains characteristic of workwear to achieve a realistic distressed look.
• Made with an original denim fabric newly developed based on an analysis of denim fabrics from that era.
• Designed by Taiga Takahashi, the fabric uses green-cast indigo-dyed warp yarns and natural-colored weft yarns to evoke a vintage feel. Additionally, by adjusting the yarn count and increasing the weaving density, this 1/2 right-twill weave achieves a rich texture distinct from T.T.’s signature left-twill denim.
• The engraved buttons and buckle are made of iron and are original pieces crafted from custom molds. Since they are unplated, they will rust over time, allowing you to enjoy the aging process.
• The hammer pocket has been removed to create a more beautiful silhouette for the wide-leg design.

In 2017, designer Taiga Takahashi started Taiga Takahashi in New York. The brand concept is "to excavate archeological objects of the future by reviving relics of the past". He had collected more than several thousand pieces of clothing from 70 to 100 years ago through antique dealers overseas since he was a teenager. Through these collections, he researched clothes that could exist in the present or the future from the perspective of archaeology. Designer Taiga Takahashi passed away in April 2022, and the brand name was changed to "T.T" from the 2023-24 season.
