The SOLS all-black released at the end of 2016 is now available in an updated version. The upper is made of a beautiful glossy French moleskin. In addition to the careful stitchwork, which differs in different areas, no detail has been cut out of the shoes, including a high-density heel counter, a highly durable ANTI-SLIP outsole, and a cotton pile footbed. The shoes also come with rayon shoelaces that are a reproduction of 1920s shoelaces.

Asahi Corporation (formerly Nippon Rubber) was founded in 1892 in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture. It is also known that in the 1970s, the founder of Nike, Phil Knight, visited this company and first consign the production of sports shoes for Nike due to its technical capabilities. Nowadays, they have been not only producing their own products but also taking on the responsibility to make domestically for various prestigious deck shoes with the vulcanized manufacturing method, which is rare in Japan. SOLS is a brand that analyzes and respect the details and patterns peculiar to old deck shoes such as KEDS, TOP-SIDER, and VANS of the 1960s to the 1970s.
