Back Nep Jacket

This jacket is made from a distinctive back-nep fabric. The raw cotton used to create the fabric is a blend of dry-textured American and Australian cotton. During the carding process, the machinery is specially adjusted to create natural neps in the yarn. The fabric is then woven on a rapier loom, which adds strength to the yarn while enhancing the overall durability of the fabric.
To give the surface a refined appearance, the fabric is dyed without mercerization, preserving the subtle unevenness of the neps and creating a naturally textured look. A resin finish is then applied to give the fabric added firmness, while also improving its wind resistance and helping to minimize shape distortion after washing.
The design is based on the slightly voluminous, distinctive two-button tailored jackets that were popular among baseball players and commissioners around the 1930s. It features welt-and-flap pockets, providing both a classic appearance and practical functionality, along with side vents for a distinctive silhouette.
The jacket also retains the unique design details of the previous model, including a peaked interior pocket sized to accommodate a traditional Japanese gift envelope, a classic facing construction, and base-shaped flap pockets.
