A ground jacket made from Shetland wool knitted from the Shetland Islands in northern Scotland, known for its thick, soft fibers, using an Italian sliver knitting machine to create a jersey knit. The distinctive construction of sliver knitting, which knits the wool without twisting the fibers while maintaining their bulk, lets the fabric trap warm air between the fibers, providing a lightweight feel and high warmth retention. The design is based on the jackets worn by staff who maintained the grounds at baseball stadiums, and has been reconstructed from a different perspective than an award jacket. Designed to be worn as a mid-layer outerwear piece, the slightly compact construction makes it easy to layer, and the silhouette is easy to incorporate into everyday outfits. Soft, classic needle-out ribbing is used for the ribbed sections to match the texture of the main fabric. This helps define the overall look while creating a natural harmony with the texture of the material.
