In the 1970s, regarding the adoption of a leather upper by the vulcanized process in the technology at that time, it was poor adhesion to rubber and had difficulty in durability. In order to solve this issue, the new idea, which was to wrap a cotton herringbone tape in a belt shape and glue it together, was adopted. And now, "ASAHI" has found the originality and durability of this old technique again. Smooth leather is used for the upper.
